WORK

ABOUT

Cristy Trabadass is a boundary-pushing director, writer, and producer born and raised in South Florida. Her work is blunt, bold, and heavily influenced by underground youth subcultures. After attending film school at Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts, Cristy went on to premiere her films all over the country and participate in the emerging filmmaker programs of esteemed festivals such as; Telluride Film Festival, Sundance, and The Comcast NBC Universal Latino Media Fest. She creates work that is unapologetically feminine and explores the dark environments young people create to cope and express themselves.
Cristy directs, produces, and writes, for clients such as; HBO, Strange Music, the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation, and Rolling Loud Music Festival. She is a Sundance Ignite YoungArts Fellow, a member of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers, and an entrepreneur who owns two film production companies; Trabadass Productions and Smoke Stacks Studios. She hopes to help to build a sustainable film industry in her community and strives to motivate young people to pursue their dream artistic careers through her work as Film Discipline Coordinator at YoungArts Foundation.
